]]>The post Christmas markets in Mallorca appeared first on Pabisa Hotels Blog.
]]>Let’s start in the city centre. At this time of year, Palma fills up with small independent stalls in two of the city’s most popular locations: Plaza Mayor, the traditional main square in the heart of the city and La Rambla, the tree-lined boulevard that stretches from the foot of the plaza. You’ll find everything from locally crafted ceramics and jewellery to wooden toys and handmade nativity scenes, known as belenes, which are an important part of a Spanish Christmas.
These two central spots are ideal for a day or evening out, enjoying the sights of the city and eating churros while crossing names off your gifting list. These central markets are free and open Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 9 pm.
Now let’s head west, just a fifteen-minute walk from Santa Catalina, to Pueblo Español, a unique “village” that pays homage to Spanish architecture with reproductions of some of the country’s most famous buildings, including the Alhambra in Granada. Each year, Pueblo Español is transformed into an open-air Christmas market with sparkling lights and festive decorations, food stalls selling roasted chestnuts and spiced mulled wine and, of course, plenty of shops offering handcrafted ornaments, artisanal goods and sweet treats.
Children can also meet Santa Claus at the North PEM-Pole. Check out the live music schedule because bands from all over the world will be performing until 17th December. The market is open from 12 pm to 11.30 pm and admission is 10€ for adults and 5€ for children, which includes a glühwein or a hot chocolate.
Last stop: let’s venture out of the city—by cab, bus, or car—to Puerto Portals, one of the most exclusive marinas in the Mediterranean, sitting pretty on the island’s southwest coast. Until 6th January, you can enjoy the European-inspired Christmas market with more than 40 wooden stalls, traditional food, and an ice skating rink in an upscale setting surrounded by sleek superyachts.
There are also plenty of upscale restaurants, bars and designer shops so you can eat, drink and continue the retail therapy. On a beautiful sunny day or crisp winter’s evening, fun for all the family is guaranteed—and the entrance is free.
Already planning your holidays for the 2024 season? Whether you’re looking for a spring or summer escape, we have four hotels in Playa de Palma that are perfect whatever the month because Mallorca has over 300 days of sunshine a year. We’re located on the coast to the east of the city of Palma de Mallorca, so you can enjoy the beach, pool and everything else the island has to offer with absolute ease. ]]>Of course, every Mallorca activity guide has to begin in the Tramuntana mountains. This UNESCO World Heritage site provides a huge selection of spectacular trails and roads.
One of the best hiking routes to add to your list is the GR 221, which runs from Pollença all the way to Andratx. This challenging trail will take you through romantic towns and lush forests, taking in coastal and inland views. If you’re looking for a truly dramatic hike, try the famous gorge walk of Torrent de Pareis, which leads you to one of Europe’s most famous beaches, Sa Calobra.
Those looking for a more relaxed day on the trail should consider a visit to the Cala Mondragó Natural Park on the southeast coast. Many of the trails here lead to secluded beaches, so be sure to pack a towel so you can enjoy the gentle lapping of the waves.
When it comes to two-wheel adventures, there’s no place in Europe like Mallorca. There’s a reason this island has cemented its status as a cyclist’s paradise. Think high quality tarmac, challenging routes, beautiful views and a cycling infrastructure that is unrivalled.
During the spring and autumn months, the Tramuntana mountains in particular are buzzing with riders from all around the world. That’s because you’ll find some of the most spectacular routes here, including the climbs up to the Coll de Femenia and Sa Batalla, as well as the multitude of switchbacks that make up the picture-perfect Sa Calobra ascent. If you’re in the mood for a more relaxed outing, try the central plains and vineyards, as well as the coastal flats.
Then there’s the cycling-friendly infrastructure, which includes well-maintained roads, cycling highways and tons of bike rental stores and cycling cafés. Towns like Alcúdia and Pollença are especially popular for cyclists to visit.
If you’re looking to compete, keep in mind that Mallorca hosts several cycling events and races each year, attracting thousands of enthusiasts from around the world. The Mallorca 312, for example, is a popular long-distance cycling event.

]]>The post Black Friday at Pabisa Hotels appeared first on Pabisa Hotels Blog.
]]>Where does the term Black Friday come from?
Well, there are many different stories, some of which are more rooted in fiction that fact. Originally, it was assumed that Black Friday referred to the shift from financial loss, which was marked on the spreadsheet in red, to the day that businesses finally turned a profit, which they marked in black. This shift happened the day after Thanksgiving, when sales went through the roof.
Another take on the history of Black Friday dates back to the 1960’s, when police in Philadelphia had to deal with a huge influx of suburban tourists flocking to the city for pre-holiday shopping. Thanks to the nightmare created by ensuing traffic jams, shoplifting and more, police started referring to this period as Black Friday.
Today, Black Friday is a true cultural phenomenon that has given rise to other shopping holidays, such as Cyber Monday.
Black Friday is perfect for customers looking to snag a great deal and get a head start on their holiday shopping. This means less stress closer to Christmas. Another reason why we love Black Friday is that it’s a great excuse to spend a fun day shopping with friends and family.
Want value for money on your stay? Well, luckily for you, hotels around the world offer some incredible Black Friday deals too. This allows them to boost occupancy rates, gain an advantage over competitors and drive direct bookings, amongst other things.
If you’re looking for a great 4-star hotel in Playa de Palma, then you’ll love our Pabisa Hotels. Located just 300 metres from the beach and 15 minutes from the centre of Palma, our four hotels are top destinations for people looking to enjoy the entertainment offerings in the area.

]]>The post What to do in Playa de Palma in October appeared first on Pabisa Hotels Blog.
]]>One of the best things about Mallorca is that you can enjoy the great outdoors all year-round. And if you ask us, the beach of Playa de Palma unfolds its true magic in October. While frying in the sun might not be on the cards, you can enjoy long walks along the shoreline or sit in the sand and listen to the waves. Thanks to the smaller crowds, you’ll get to experience the authentic island beach life.
If you’re a fan of kitesurfing, then you’ll love this time of year as the wind tends to pick up a bit more, creating ideal conditions to zip along the water. Another great way to get to know the Med is by boat. Whereas in summer the boat trips from Playa de Palma are often crowded, you’ll be able to enjoy a much calmer experience in October.
Did you know that there is a fantastic cycle path which connects Playa de Palma to the centre of the Balearic capital? If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the morning, then this is one activity you won’t want to miss out on.
Thanks to the cooler temperatures, you won’t find yourself longing to escape the summer heat during your ride. There are multiple places where you can rent bikes from, so make sure to speak to our reception team who can recommend the best bike stores.
Playa de Palma is famous for its shopping and dining offerings. And in October, you can enjoy some delicious seasonal cuisine. We always say that autumn is the season of soul food on the island. That means hearty flavours that reflect the rich agricultural abundance (think Pomegranates and Pumpkins).
Pabisa Hotels is a collection of 4-star hotels located only metres from the famous Playa de Palma. Offering guests all the comfort and amenities required for the holiday of their dreams, we are a top choice for your next island adventure. Book your 2024 Mallorca holiday now at pabisa.com.

]]>The post Autumn in Mallorca appeared first on Pabisa Hotels Blog.
]]>Autumn is an ideal time for outdoor enthusiasts. The cooler weather makes hiking, biking, and exploring the island’s natural beauty more enjoyable, with temperatures in the average range of 18°C to 25°C in September and October. November starts to get quite fresh, so make sure to pack some jumpers if you’re visiting the island then. Some of our favourite trails are located in the UNESCO World Heritage Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, which wows with its winding roads, spectacular rocky landscape, lush greenery and expansive views.
Yes, we know summer is beach season, but hear us out. While the sun itself is not quite as powerful in autumn, the sea is still nice and balmy from the summer heat, making it perfect for swimming. The biggest plus point is the sharp decline in crowd numbers, meaning your autumn beach experience will be less stressful and busy.
Autumn is the harvest season in Mallorca, and you can indulge in local culinary delights. Look out for traditional festivals celebrating the harvest, where you can sample local wines, olive oils, and seasonal dishes. We also recommend booking a wine tasting tour at one of the island’s many vineyards to learn more about its fascinating viticulture history. One of our favourite vineyards is Macia Batle, where you can explore their state-of-the-art winery and follow it up with a wine tasting.
The autumn months are culture time, which means there are tons of events, festivals and exhibitions to enjoy. Art lovers should plan a trip to Palma, where many galleries offer special exhibitions this time of year. One of the things we love about this island is that every municipality has its own festivals, so you’ll have lots of cultural activities to choose from.
In autumn, the countryside takes on a beautiful golden hue, creating picturesque landscapes that are perfect for photography and relaxation. It’s one of the main reasons why we love this season so much. It truly is magical!
Our four Pabisa Hotels in Playa de Palma offer you the holiday experience of a lifetime, with great amenities and the ultimate all-inclusive package. Find out more at pabisa.com.

]]>Late summer and early fall is still hot enough to visit a water park. Which is why we highly recommend a visit to ‘Aqualand’, which is open until October 1st. This water park has a large number of slides and attractions, as well as special areas for younger children and a wave pool. Fun is guaranteed!
At Nova Beach Lounge’s Dino Mini Golf, you can play from 18 holes to 54 divided into three different courses. Surrounded by lush vegetation and in a privileged location overlooking El Arenal beach, it combines fun with magical views. Dino Mini Golf is just few minutes by foot from Pabisa Hotels and opens from 9.00 a.m. in the morning till 12 a.m. at night.
For the more adventurous, a visit to Jungle Park Mallorca should be part of the itinerary. Located in Santa Ponsa (Calvià), it offers a total of 134 platforms between the trees. You’ll be required to move from tree to tree, at varying heights from the ground, using bridges, ropes, vines and lots of long zip wires. If this doesn’t sound like fun, we don’t know what does!
One of the things we love the most about the Katmandu Park is the level of interactivity that the attractions offer. From 4D experiences, mini-golf, and water-themed activities, there’s just so many fun things to do here. Located in Calvià, near Palmanova, it’s only a stone’s throw away from our Pabisa Hotels.
Playa de Palma is one of the island’s most popular destinations for good reason. There’s so much to do here for the entire family, from activities by the beach, to nightlife, dining, shopping and more. Add to that the proximity to Palma, and you’ve truly found your island paradise. Book your stay at one of our four Pabisa Hotels now at pabisa.com.

]]>The post How to get from the airport to Playa de Palma appeared first on Pabisa Hotels Blog.
]]>Taxis are readily available at the airport. The ride from Palma Airport to Playa de Palma is short, typically taking around 10-15 minutes (depending on traffic, of course). Taxis are a convenient and comfortable option, especially if you have luggage. The cost for the journey is approximately 20 euros. There is a taxi rank as soon as you step outside the terminal. In summer season, you might have to wait a short while for an available taxi, but the queue moves quite rapidly.
You can also book private transfer services in advance. These services offer door-to-door transportation and can be a convenient option, especially if you’re traveling with a group or have specific timing preferences. A pre-booked transfer to your Pabisa Hotel should be around the same price as a taxi. For larger parties, this is one of the most cost effective options.
Public buses operated by EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transportes) and connect the airport to Playa de Palma. Take Line 1 (“Aeroport-Arenal”) or Line 21 (“Aeroport-S’Arenal”) from the airport to Playa de Palma. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Buses are a budget-friendly option, but they might be a bit less comfortable if you have a lot of luggage. It’s also worth noting that the buses on the island have air conditioning. Bus times in the summer time run from 7.00 a.m. in the morning to 00.30 a.m. at night. In the winter they run until 22.30 p.m. at night.
If you plan to explore the island during your stay, you might consider renting a car at the airport. This gives you the flexibility to travel at your own pace and visit various attractions. There are tons of car rental options to choose from, so make sure to book your car well in advance.
When planning your transportation, consider factors such as your group size, budget, and any special requirements you might have. Overall, the options mentioned above should make it easy for you to travel from Palma Airport to Playa de Palma.
Playa de Palma is home to our four all inclusive hotels. Check them out and get the best deal directly by booking through our web. We’re looking forward to welcoming you for that dreamy beach holiday at Pabisa Hotels!
