{"id":1044,"date":"2022-01-20T11:34:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-20T11:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/?p=1044"},"modified":"2022-01-25T11:37:53","modified_gmt":"2022-01-25T11:37:53","slug":"almond-blossom-winter-mallorca-pabisa-hotels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/almond-blossom-winter-mallorca-pabisa-hotels\/","title":{"rendered":"Almond blossom in Mallorca"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mallorca is <strong>known for many things: i<\/strong>ts breath-taking beaches, its impressive mountain range, its charming villages, its lively and fun capital city, its never-ending <strong>cycling and hiking paths<\/strong>\u2026 no question asked, the island offers something for everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winter in Mallorca<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re looking for <strong>an active holiday, if you\u2019re a foodie, if you\u2019re into cultural events and art,<\/strong> if you\u2019re a nature lover\u2026 you will absolutely find what you\u2019re looking for on this sunny island called Mallorca during the colder months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And during winter, especially in <strong>January and February<\/strong> a very special natural phenomenon takes place on the island.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Almond blossom in Mallorca <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is during <strong>this time of the year<\/strong> that the island taints into soft, <strong>beautiful colours.<\/strong> Due to the beginning of the flowering of the almond trees, <strong>Mallorca\u2019s countryside stains soft white and ethereal pink tones. <\/strong>Thousands of almond trees burst into blossom covering the island with a white blanket, featuring one of the most beautiful pictures of winter the island. In the three colours, white, blue and pink, the flowering almond trees anticipate spring when winter is not over yet, an image that has been recreated by painters, novelists and photographers throughout history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"564\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/EN-almond-blossom-trees-almond-trees-playa-de-palma-mallorca-pabisa-hotels.jpg\" alt=\"EN almond blossom trees almond trees playa de palma mallorca pabisa hotels\" class=\"wp-image-1046\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/EN-almond-blossom-trees-almond-trees-playa-de-palma-mallorca-pabisa-hotels.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/EN-almond-blossom-trees-almond-trees-playa-de-palma-mallorca-pabisa-hotels-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pabisa.com\/blog\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/01\/EN-almond-blossom-trees-almond-trees-playa-de-palma-mallorca-pabisa-hotels-768x461.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why does this <strong>phenomenon happen?<\/strong> It is mostly due to the <strong>mild Mediterranean temperatures,<\/strong> causing premature flowering. The shape of the <strong>delicate flowers <\/strong>of almond changes depending on its variety and their colour ranges from pure white to pure pink, passing through light blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>natural phenomenon of almond blossom in Mallorca<\/strong> runs for several weeks and ends at the end of February.
