The German team needs only to draw against the United States in order to go forward to the next round as the Group G champions. Losing the match, however, wouldn’t cost them the championship, since Portugal and Ghana would need to win by a landslide in order to deflect Germany from its fourth world title.<\/p>\n
Germany are the favourites. The national team has never been eliminated before the semi-finals since the twenty-first century began.
