A concert on the sand to welcome in the summer at Playa de Palma

Next Monday, 23rd June, Europa FM Radio in Mallorca is giving us a rendezvous on Playa de Palma, to be precise between “Balnearios” (Beach Bars) 13 and 14– which you can get to on foot from our Pabisa beach hotels, located at Balneario 6–, to welcome in the summer with one of the most looked-forward-to concerts in Mallorca and on the sands of Playa de Palma. How about it?

Europa FM, one of the most listened-to radio stations in Spain, is holding once again this year a super-event in Mallorca: the “Revetlla de la Nit de Sant Joan” concert (revetlla is the name we give in Mallorca to the evening before a feast day, when people go out onto the streets to enjoy themselves until well after dawn).

The fiesta, which will start at eight p.m. and continue until one o’clock in the morning, will feature a performance by the spectacular Batucada Saravá and concerts by The Claps Rock Band and 84.

A batucada is a musical group made up of a multitude of people playing percussion instruments all at the same time. Its origin lies in African culture, but the batucadas which have popped up in recent years in Spain get their influence from the Brazilian ones, with rhythms very similar to samba. By watching them as they play and move to the music you’ll get into the swing of it yourself.

Palma Municipal Transport Company will be putting on a special Revetlla service of bus 15, which runs between Palma Beach and the city centre. This service will be available until three a.m.

Playa de Palma, fiestas throughout the summer

Playa de Palma is one of the liveliest areas in Mallorca. In addition to the fiestas for Sant Joan (Midsummer’s Night), which we told you about in our last blog entry, from now until late September this area in the south of the island, one of the most famous in the Mediterranean, fills with music and colour day in, day out with a calendar packed with events in Mallorca.

Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on our Facebook page to keep abreast of the best fiestas at Playa de Palma.
